Art of Flavor: Pop Up Dinner

April 4, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Aces of Taste Hosts Exclusive Pop Up Dinner with Celebrity Chef Ja’Nel.

aboutus_3About Chef Ja’Nel

Most well know nationally as the winner of FOX’s “Hells Kitchen” Season 11, Ja’Nel Witt has built upon her national acclaim and may be, just as well known in Houston as the former executive chef of Houston’s Corner Table. Witt’s Corner Table menus have garnered rave reviews from diners and critics alike, including being named one of just three Houston “Chefs to Watch in 2015” by Houstonia Magazine, and one of “The Five Hottest Chefs of 2014”. Witt was chosen to represent Houston at the 2015 Texas Medal of Arts Awards in Austin, presented by AT&T. She was nominated in 2015, by My Table Magazine as “Chef of the Year”. Her lunch, dinner, brunch and event menus offer intensely flavorful and unique cuisine with nods to Thai, Indian, Spanish and Latin food and, unique among fine-dining establishments, a strong focus on healthful options, including Paleo, Gluten-free, Vegan and Vegetarian dishes.

Soon after graduating with a BS from the University of Houston with a degree in Health & Human Performance, Witt realized her true passion was in the kitchen, leading her to receive her AAS in Culinary Arts. She has honed her skills at several well know local hotspots; Kiran’s, Tintos, and most recently Corner Table. Beyond the kitchen, Witt is dedicated to giving back to the community through her participation in events like the Depressed Cake Shop benefiting The Montrose Center. She was the Ambassador of Draughts & Dogs benefiting Lucky Dog Rescue, and was the December 2014 spokesperson for Hairless For Her Awareness, a breast cancer awareness campaign.
